(11th October, 2019): World arthritis day is being celebrated all over the World on 11th October every year. In its efforts to commemorate World Arthritis Day, the Department of Rheumatology in Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) conducted a one day patient awareness program on 11th of October. A significant number of patients, general population and health professionals attended the program. Professor Rakhshanda Rehman, Dean School of Health Sciences Fatima Memorial System, was the chief guest. Others guests of honor included: Prof Dr Bilal Bin Younis and Prof Dr Saulat Siddique. Program was officially started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by National anthem.
Dr. Muhammed Haroon, Head of Department Rheumatology made a presentation about the contributions of FMH in care of musculoskeletal disorders. His talk was followed by brief patient oriented lectures of common Arthritis related disorders.
There was also an expert talk on the role of exercise in arthritis. Later on, a large number of patients attended the “meet the expert” session where experts answered their questions followed by refreshments
