Introduction of the Department of Science
The Department of Science of Dental Materials aims to provide comprehensive education on
the principles of material science, coupled with hands-on training in various laboratory
techniques. Students are trained in the clinical selection and handling of dental materials with
a strong emphasis on laboratory-based tasks and contemporary restorative and prosthetic
procedures.
The curriculum covers various aspects of biomaterial science, including material
characterization, properties, and recent developments in dental materials. Students engage in
lab-based clinical scenarios that emphasize problem-based learning. Our integrated teaching
approach, involving Prosthetics and Operative Dentistry, ensures that students acquire the
necessary skills for delivering quality patient care and remain informed about current
products and practices.
By combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience, the department prepares
students to excel in the field of dental technology and contributes to advancements in dental
care.
