B.Sc. (Hons.) Optometry & Orthoptics

 

The B.Sc. (Hons.) Optometry & Orthoptics program offer at FMH Institute of Allied Health Sciences, which is affiliated with University of Health Sciences (UHS). The program equips learners with the knowledge and skills to diagnose, manage, and treat various eye conditions. This intensive 4-years’ degree program delves into core areas like ocular anatomy and physiology, visual assessment and refractive errors, contact lens fitting, low vision rehabilitation, and binocular vision disorders along with strabismus (eye misalignment), amblyopia (lazy eye) and pediatric vision therapy in orthoptic division.

The Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) is a teaching hospital which will provide hands on training to students in the field of Optometry and Orthoptics i.e. refractive assessment and correction, strabismic assessment and with treatment modalities and diagnosing eye diseases in clinical settings. Under the supervision of qualified clinical staff students are actively engaged in clinical training at FMH to attain practical knowledge and hands on practice in OPDs for 3 years along with their course work.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with at-least 50% marks

A-Levels with equivalence certificate to F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) from IBCC
