Department Of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a surgery to diagnose and treat diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region. It is an internationally recognized surgical specialty. Graduates are expected to have competency to carry out simple and surgical tooth removal; assess pathologies of mouth and jaws and provide emergency management for traumatic injuries of teeth and jaws.

Surgical Services:

  • Dentoalveolar (Extraction of teeth)
  • Diagnosis and treatment of soft and hard tissue trauma of the mouth and face (lower jaw, upper jaw, check bone fractures, nasal fractures, and eye socket fractures)
  • Diagnosis and treatment of benign pathology (cysts, tumors etc.)
  • Diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders
  • Diagnosis and treatment of chronic facial pain disorders
  • Correction of facial deformities
