“Prof. Dr. Rakhshanda Rehman is a Medical Educationist with a vast experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. She had the honor of being Chair of Obs/ Gynecology at FJMC and then Principal of FJMC, CPSP councilor for eight years was appointed as Dean Medical Education, Prof Emeritus of Obs/ Gynecology at CPSP. She also has the distinctive honor of being the first female Vice President of CPSP and country director for the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics program of CPSP. She is a WHO fellow and honorary fellow of the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. Prof. Rakhshanda Rehman has numerous publications to her credit in national and international journals. She has been invited as a speaker in many National and International conferences. She has vast experience in Safe Motherhood practices in the community. Her fields of interest are educational research, curriculum development and cervical cancer.”

School of Health Sciences – Fatima Memorial System is an extremely dedicated group of academic institutions: the FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry (FMHCM&D), Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing (SWCON), FMH Institute of Allied Health Sciences (IAHS), and Postgraduate Institute dedicated to providing superior education and training in order to produce highly qualified caring Physicians, Nurses and Allied health professionals to serve the nation. The establishment of Fatima Memorial System is a testament to the vision, commitment and effort of its founder Mrs. Shahima Rehman. The FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry became operational in 2000, in addition to a five year MBBS and a four year BDS program we have an elaborate Postgraduate Medical Education programs in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Anesthesiology, Medicine, Rheumatology, General Surgery, Family Medicine, Pathology and Dentistry with 135 residency positions in these subjects at present. We endeavor to promote integrated problem solving across disciplinary boundaries and to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that promote professionalism, team work, lifelong learning, empathy, scholarship, leadership and cultural sensitivity in all graduates of SHS FMS with the goal of providing excellence in education, healthcare and research. Recently NUR International University has been added to Fatima Memorial System, and the NUR Centre for Research and Policy (NRCP) has been established with a mission to provide evidence based recommendations to strengthen and inform policy to reform practice in health, education and social sector. NRCP has partnered with many National and International organizations in the health, social and education sector like Global fund ,WHO, ADB, UNICEF, RAF, DFID, AUSAID, John’s Hopkin’s Bloomberg School of Public Health, British Council, NACP to undertake research on several issues regarding MNCH, nutrition status and education. Research and quest for knowledge is the hallmark of any academic institution and to promote culture of research we have aligned Research and Research Promotion Activities across NUR- FMS. We are still very young but our achievements foresee a very bright future, our students have achieved many positions and distinctions in UHS examinations in FMHCM&D, IAHS, and SWCON. These successes are driven by the creativity, energy and perseverance of our faculty, staff and students. Our undergraduate & post graduate results reflect the quality of teaching and training. We were the first choice for admission in both medical and dental college in the 2018 central admission.  I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our students who are able to attain admission in FMH College of Medicine & Dentistry and I look forward with anticipation and assurance that together we will strive for and achieve excellence and that today’s students will become tomorrow’s practitioners, innovators and leaders in science and the healing arts.
